The Moyne Shire Council General Local Law No. 1 2015 (Local Laws) help control things like keeping pets, bin collection, managing events, and using public spaces. They’re here to protect the shared environment, ensure community safety, and support how people live and work together.
The Local Laws will expire on 27 October 2025. It is therefore necessary to create new Local Laws to apply after this period.
The proposed new Local Laws are substantially the same the existing Local Laws. The proposed minor changes are explained in the FAQ on this page.
Council will undertake a more thorough review of the Locals Laws through a separate future process, which will also include wide public consultation.
