Welcome to our Youth Strategy Initiative!

For the first time, Moyne Shire and Warrnambool City Council are joining forces to create a shared Youth Strategy. This exciting collaboration will guide our activities with young people over the next five years.

In our region, young people move seamlessly between Moyne and Warrnambool, accessing shared services like education, healthcare, sport and recreation facilities. They also benefit from youth programs available in both areas. By working together, we can tackle regional challenges more effectively and ensure that our solutions reflect the diverse needs and aspirations of our young people.

Our Commitment

This Youth Strategy is about making life better for young people in both Moyne and Warrnambool. It will establish a framework for how council will engage with young people (aged 12-25) and collaborate with external youth and community service sectors. Our goal is to improve outcomes for young people and guide the programs and initiatives we undertake to empower them.

Inclusive Development

The Strategy will be shaped by a diverse group of twenty young co-designers aged 16 to 24 who will work with us to ensure it meets the unique challenges and opportunities faced by our youth. We believe in recognising the ideas and issues important to young people and demonstrating our ongoing commitment to their wellbeing and empowerment.

Get Involved!

We invite all community members, particularly young people to participate in the development of the Youth Strategy. Your input is crucial in creating a plan that benefits everyone. Stay tuned for updates on how you can contribute to this important initiative.

Together, we can create a brighter future for our young people!

This project is funded by the Victorian Government through their Engage! fund.
