Invitation to contribute to updating the Moyne Shire Council road names pool list
Under the Geographic Place Names Act 1998, Moyne Shire Council is the naming authority for roads, features and localities within the Shire. Due to the growth of our towns and regions, Council is requesting public assistance to regenerate our “Road Names Pool List” for the Naming Regions shown below.
Any person, community group, organisation, government department or authority are invited to propose a new road name to be considered in line with the Naming Rules for Places in Victoria 2022.
If you would like to submit a new road naming proposal(s) the following information must be included to be considered:
The proposed name.
Background information on why Council should consider the name including any historic reasons of local relevance.
The suggested Road Naming Region and location.
A statement about how the proposed name conforms with the relevant principles and requirements in the Naming Rules for Places in Victoria 2022.
Information on public consultation (if any) that has occurred and/or support and non-support that has been gathered from community members or groups.
