In 2023 the Victorian government via the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing introduced the roll out of the Fair Access Policy development to Local Government Areas across Victoria. Council is required to adopt their own policy prior to 1 July 2024 to meet new funding criteria for community sport infrastructure grants from state government.

The Fair Access Policy relates to community sport and active recreation. The policy will progressively build the capacity and capability of Moyne Shire Council to identify and reduce systemic causes of gender inequality in policy, programs, communications, and delivery of services.

Council adopted the fair access policy at its June 2024 Council meeting.
