Proposed minor development of Baxter Street Reserve
Council is seeking feedback on which minor works the community would like to see at Baxter Street Reserve, Port Fairy.
A list of options can be found in the survey below, and include landscaping, path upgrade, barbecue, furniture and more. A proposed landscape plan shows potential layout and elements, as guidance.
As a public open space rather than a nature reserve, any replacement planting at Baxter Street Reserve will likely focus on suitable ornamental and/or native specimen trees. The aim will be to select appropriate species that complement the park setting while providing good canopy cover and shade as they mature.
We would like to hear how residents use the space, and what park users would like to see.
Based on this feedback, Council officers will organise a new concept design and seek funding through government grants or internal budgeting for 2027/28.
