Consultation has concluded
The AEPP has been developed in partnership with Corangamite Shire Council, key traditional owner groups, and with considerations of strategic documents such as the My Moyne Community Vision 2040, the 2021-2025 Council Plan, and the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation Country Plan.
The plan focuses on how the Council can effectively engage with and support Indigenous communities, aligning with the Victorian Aboriginal Local Government Strategy through seven strategic pillars:
Culture, Respect and Trust
Awareness and Engagement
Accountability and Direction
Governance and Participation
Economic Participation
Health and Wellbeing
Resource and Funding
Additionally, the AEPP places a significant emphasis on internal operational initiatives aimed at promoting and supporting Aboriginal culture within the Council.
It was adopted at the June 2024 Council meeting and can be found online here.
